We would like to notify our clients that there is a disruption in PCB production every year around Chinese New Year which may delay your order for an additional one to two weeks. Please plan accordingly.
Chinese New Year is Friday, February 16, 2018. Productivity in China declines starting a week before then as people travel back to their home towns. Production may be virtually halted for one week. Many people will take two weeks holiday until the Lantern Festival which is Friday March 2, 2018, which means overall productivity doesn’t fully recover until a week after that.
PCB’s typically take about two weeks to manufacture, so you should plan to place your order by Feb 1, 2018 to ensure that your order is not disrupted. Orders placed after Feb 23 should not be affected.
Quick turn prototypes are made domestically and should not be significantly affected, though domestic fabs may experience increased volume for this reason. Regular orders of PCB can be made domestically but the cost of the bare board could be as much as double.
